Saturn composed of frames taken in the red, green and violet filters. Taken by the Cassini Spacecraft on July 16, 2017. Processed by me.
Because I couldn’t wait to process another image of Saturn (because HELLO, SATURN, and September 15th is far too near), I decided to try out a false(ish) color process. I say false because I used an image taken in the violet (which is a slightly lower wavelength of light than blue; see paper by C. C. Proco for more details) in place of where I’d put a frame taken in the blue filter, which required quite a bit more work to get to this color. And hey, not too bad! Gotta process all we can, while we can.
More to come!
